LOTRO Dyes Guide

Dyes in LOTRO can be used to change the color of armor, headwear, and cloaks. Only scholars can create dyes. You become a scholar by training to be a historian. After the dye is made, anyone can use it. The dye pot is consumed upon use.

Keep in mind that sometimes dyes do not cover the entire piece of armor you are wearing.

Dye Prices

You can get someone with the scholar profession (a historian) to make you a dye or you can buy them from the auction house.

These prices reflect the cheapest Buy It Now price that I could find on 1-05-08 on the Vilya server. The two obvious winners in the most expensive category are red and black dyes.
