Which Lotro Class to Play?

Champions

Play the champion class if you like to get up close to the enemy and deal lots of damage.

• high damage per second
• area of effect damage
• dual wield
• heavy armor
• fervour - damage and power regeneration are increased at the expense of avoidance.
• playable by man, elf, and dwarf

Burglars

Play the burglar class if you enjoy sneaking up behind the enemy and catching them off guard.

• can reliably initiate powerful coordinated fellowship skills
• debuffs the enemy
• can stealth
• dual wield at level 10
• playable by hobbit and man

Captains

Play the captain class if you enjoy having it all: buffing, debuffing, healing, reviving, taunting, and dps

• summon a Herald pet at higher levels
• very versatile
• playable by man only
• jack of all trades - master of none

Guardian

Play the guardian class if you like receiving lots of enemy attention and being able to withstand more hits than anyone else.

• uses a shield and one handed weapons
• turn the tables on your foe
• can sometimes initiate a powerful coordinated fellowship skill
• playable by all races
• weak offense

Hunter

Play the hunter class if you enjoy doing lots of damage from far away.

• uses bow (or crossbow at level 30)
• playable by all races
• can use traps to snare the enemy
• weaker in close combat
• medium armor at level 10
• can teleport to major cities and special camp sites
• +15% run speed
• Can track mobs

Lore-master

Play the lore-master if you enjoy casting spells and ensnaring the enemy.

• powerful tank or dps pets
• playable by elf and man
• spells that incapacitate an enemy

Minstrel

Play the minstrel class if you enjoy healing and buffing.

• playable by all races
• can cure and cause fear
• words of power do light damage to your oponent
• weak defense
